Question Quiz question: Annex 2 Rule of the Air

Hi,

related to the following quiz question which I got wrong can someone help me please. Im concerned because I got other questions related to the same type correct.

What is the highest appropriate cruise levelbelow FL290 for an aircraft on a true heading of 002 deg, with a Variation of 5 deg East, Deviation 2 deg East and Starboard drift 4 deg.

The answer given to the quiz question is FL270, I thought it should be FL280

any help would be great

cheers paulo

Hi,

Semicircular FLs are based on you magnetic track.
Heading 002°T, variation 5°E = heading 357°M.
Heading 357°M, drift 4°Stbd = Track 001°M
You need an odd FL.
