Default GPWS Mode 4

This was a question in July's exam paper about what sort of situation would prompt a Mode 4 warning. The answers were along the lines of sink rate, terrain, flaps, landing gear (apologies for not remembering correctly) and you were given combinations to choose from.

Now, in the lessons we're taught about Mode 4, 4A and 4B as discrete modes, but does the exam question treat them all as a single mode?

BTW it's a shame we can't get our papers back as I would like to learn from any mistakes made!

Hi daneboy

Thanks for feedback. From your post ! would be difficult to suggest what the examiner is getting at? Was it a question where you had to select a number of options ? If anyone else has any more info on question would be helpfull.

Regards

John H

Hi Daneboy

There are 2 questions in V3 of the database which refer to Mode 4. QIDs 15177 and 16785.

Do either look like what you saw?

Cheers

Jill

Hi Jill - 'Fraid I'm out of subscription at the moment with the QB so I can't check easily; any chance you can post them on here?

John - Yes, the question asked you to choose from selections of one, two or more of the answers.

Regards

Daneboy
